Mallorca really does have something for everyone, from a sophisticated capital city, with a beautiful Gothic cathedral, to picturesque coastal roads and lively nightclubs.  There’s the whole island to discover – from the villages of the plains to the Tramuntana mountain range - to the caves and calas of the east coast and the capital city of Palma.

Places to visit

Well worth a visit is the capital, Palma, the Roman towns of Pollensa and Alcudia, inland villages (Buger, Inca and Campanet, Valldemosa and Deia in the west).

The best way to see the island is to hire a car, otherwise buses run in resorts, a vintage electric train travels through the mountains in the west and an ‘Orange Express’ tram runs in Puerto de Soller.

Celebrity gossip.  If you’re partial to a spot of celebrity gossip, you can witness some first hand on your holiday.  Claudia Schiffer, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow have all been seen enjoying the island’s sun, sea and secluded regions.

Wet, wet, wet.  Ride the waves and fast flumes or slides at one of the island’s water parks.  Why not try Western Water Park for starters?

Shopping: Palma is a shopaholic’s dream with plenty of chic boutiques to explore, or there’s always the town of Inca which hosts Mallorca’s largest market.
